This faux-paperback book cover originally had a lot more detail in it--both the girl and the arm holding the gun were more fully illustrated.
But as I worked on this, I realized I liked it better with these stark, black-and-white (and red) shapes. When I added the somewhat funky font and background elements, I realized stark was the way to go!

I actually feel bad for the girl, so I am guessing your elements all worked well together.
Great picture Rob! It has a teeny-tiny bit of a James Bond feel to it. Agree completely with your comments about less being more. And the font fits like a charm. Love the position of the name on the gun handle. It just works!

Nice juxtiposition with no innuendo... very well done. And the simplicity of the colors, the larger objects and the font choice... very nice.
